Microsoft reached the General Availability (GA) milestone for New Outlook for Windows on 1 August 2024. Moving a product from Preview to General Availability means a few things in the eyes of Microsoft:
- Microsoft does not recommend Preview products for production use, but once it goes GA that is Microsoft saying it is now ready for production use.
- Preview products are not officially supported by Microsoft, but GA product are. So, you can now log a support call and get help if there are any issues in using the product.
This should mean that we see accelerated uptake of New Outlook for Windows for those organisations where features they use are available in the new version.
Here’s the updated timeline for the New Outlook for Windows rollout.
